'Times Tables Testing' is a differentiated range of tests covering all of the requirements of he Numeracy Strategy for multiplication.

Children can earn certificates as they make progress, and due to the wide degree of differentiation, there is full support for SEN pupils, and an additional challenge for gifted pupils. The software is fully networkable, enabling teachers to monitor the attainment and progress of all pupils.

Children select which test they want to do

There are a number of options that schools can control.  One of these is that pupils can be made to work through the tables in order.  In this case, they’d only see the one times tables quiz that they are currently working on.

The range of quizzes available can also be controlled.  For example, most Key Stage 1 classes would be concentrating on the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, whilst at Year 6 or above, pupils should generally be working on all their times tables up to 12 x 12.  These settings can be controlled at both class and school levels.

Pupils select the speed level that they want to do.

If pupils are working through the tables in order, they’ll again only see the speed level that they are currently working at.

Also, the school can set a minimum speed level, either for the class, or for the entire school.

GOLD Level equates to the expectation that by the end of Key Stage 2, pupils should be able to answer questions in under 5 seconds, and is good training in preparation for SAT tests.

Children will see each question, and it is also read aloud to them.

Each normal test consists of 20 questions.

The child’s current score is shown at the top of the screen.

When the child finishes the test, their score is displayed on screen.

Pupils are also shown which questions they got wrong,  and the answers that they typed in for these questions.

Both of these two screens can be printed out by pupils, if the school set the Options screen to allow them to do so.

If a pupil gets full marks, a certificate is displayed on screen.  If desired, the certificate can be printed out, and taken home, to show to Parents.
